Mid Hudson News: Rep. Ryan: “Solemn and sacred obligation” to our veterans
MID HUDSON NEWS
Pat Ryan spent his first Veterans Day as a congressman attending several ceremonies honoring veterans across the Hudson Valley.
A West Point graduate who served two combat deployments in Iraq, Ryan thanked veterans for their service and said the country has a “solemn and sacred obligation” to care for our veterans.
“Making sure we fight for VA healthcare here in the Hudson Valley, keeping Castle Point open, expanding services, making sure we are providing housing, job opportunities and everything that our veterans need,” he said. “That’s not just on Veterans Day, but on every single day.”
Earlier this year, Ryan won a special election to fill the 19th District seat vacated when Lt. Governor Antonio Delgado was appointed to the state post. This week, Ryan won a full two-year term as the representative in the new 18th Congressional District.
