Police Boat Acquisition

Project Recipient: Village of Greenwood Lake Police Department

Amount Requested: $282,480

Project Description/Justification for Use of Taxpayer Funds: The Village of Greenwood Lake Police Department will use these funds to acquire a law enforcement patrol vessel for use on Greenwood Lake. The project is an appropriate use of taxpayer funds because the police boat will allow Greenwood Lake PD to conduct patrols and respond swiftly to emergencies, enforce safety regulations, and protect those who live, work, and recreate on the lake. Esopus Fire District Fire Apparatus Acquisition

Project Recipient: Esopus Fire District

Recipient Address: 1142 Route 9W, Esopus, NY 12429

Amount Requested: $660,000

Project Description/Justification for Use of Taxpayer Funds: The Esopus Fire District will use these funds to acquire a new rescue engine to replace aging apparatus that has exceeded its operational lifespan. The new vehicle will support fire suppression, technical rescue, and emergency medical response for a rural district covering a large geographic area. Reliable fire apparatus is essential public safety infrastructure in rural communities where long response distances make equipment failures particularly dangerous. This is an appropriate use of taxpayer funds because it will protect residents and reduce long-term costs associated with emergency repairs and delayed response.

Community Project Funding Requests (CPF)

The House Appropriations Committee announced a Community Project Funding initiative to allow Members of Congress to target federal funds towards projects and programs that will address the most significant needs facing the communities they represent. Only state, local, and tribal governments; publicly owned entities (e.g. ports, universities, PUDs, etc.); and eligible non-profits are permitted to request Community Project Funding.

Please note that non-profits are no longer eligible for Community Project Funding in the Economic Development Initiative (EDI) account.

Each project account must meet the specified eligibility and/or matching requirements. This is a highly competitive process as our office can only select a limited number of requests for submission to the Appropriations Committee. The Committee will ultimately decide which projects move forward.

*Disclaimer: All requests must comply with House Rules. Submission of your request does not create a binding commitment on any party nor a guarantee that any organization or program will be awarded funding from any federal agency through the appropriation process. Furthermore, the submission, review, and approval of applications for federal funding will be carried out consistent with federal agency rules and regulations. Failure to complete this form fully and provide sufficient information for review may nullify your request.
