Congressman Pat Ryan Announces March C.A.R.E.S. Van Schedule Alongside Senator Michelle Hinchey

Constituent Advocacy Resources Empowerment Services (C.A.R.E.S.) Van’s March events will bring assistance with federal agencies to communities across NY-18

Ryan’s office will partner with office of State Senator Michelle Hinchey for multiple events bringing assistance with federal and state agencies to Dutchess County constituents

WASHINGTON, DC  –  Today, Congressman Pat Ryan announced the March schedule for his Constituent Advocacy Resources Empowerment Services (C.A.R.E.S.) Van. The van, staffed by highly-trained caseworkers from the Congressman’s team, provides direct assistance to constituents across NY-18 – ensuring people can access everything from help with passports to Social Security benefits to flood recovery assistance right in their own community.  Congressman Ryan’s office will be partnering with State Senator Michelle Hinchey’s office for events on Friday, March 8 in Red Hook and Rhinebeck to bring assistance with both federal and state-level agencies to constituents.

“Too often, assistance with federal agencies can feel out of reach, that’s why I’m bringing it to Hudson Valley families in every NY-18 community with the C.A.R.E.S. Van,” said Congressman Ryan. “My team goes that extra mile to cut through bureaucratic red tape and get Hudson Valley families the benefits they’ve earned. I’m proud to partner with Senator Michelle Hinchey’s team to bring both federal and state agency assistance to Red Hook and Rhinebeck this month. If you could use assistance, I hope you’ll join my team at one of this month’s events.”

“Every day, my Constituent Services Team helps our neighbors access the support and services they need, and we’re proud to be partnering with Congressman Pat Ryan’s Office this month to bring both state and federal services to our neighbors in Dutchess County,” said Senator Michelle Hinchey. “We're here to be a resource and encourage Dutchess residents to visit our Constituent Services teams at upcoming mobile office hours in Red Hook and Rhinebeck!”

By the end of March, the C.A.R.E.S. Van will have visited every one of the 82 municipalities in NY-18. The full list of locations is below.

Congressman Ryan’s C.A.R.E.S. Van assists constituents of NY-18 in accessing earned benefits, such as Veterans’ Affairs benefits and Social Security, federal grant funding, passports and visas, immigration and naturalization services, and resolving issues with federal agencies, such as the Internal Revenue Service.

In November, the C.A.R.E.S. Van was utilized to bring assistance from the Social Security Administration back to Ulster County for a one-day senior resource fair organized by Congressman Ryan’s Office. The Van also made multiple stops at veterans service organizations in every county of NY-18 during Congressman Ryan’s Veterans Week of Action, for events that delivered specialized assistance directly to Hudson Valley veterans and honored their service.

Congressman Ryan mobilized the C.A.R.E.S. Van to assemble a coalition of community partners to deliver flood recovery resources during on-site events in communities impacted by last July’s devastating flooding.

The C.A.R.E.S. Van has also been used by Congressman Ryan to partner with other offices and organizations, such as the New York State Comptroller’s Office of Unclaimed Funds, for specialty events.

Congressman Ryan has prioritized increasing the responsiveness and accessibility of these services. The C.A.R.E.S Van will visit every municipality in the district over the course of the next year, ensuring that every constituent has direct and easy access to vital federal services.
