Congressman Pat Ryan Increases Access to Affordable Healthcare in Orange County

Congressman Pat Ryan secures $2.8M  for Cornerstone Family Healthcare to construct an urgent care center in Middletown and modernize its primary care center at its Middletown campus

WASHINGTON, DC –  Today, Congressman Pat Ryan secured $2.8M for Cornerstone Family Healthcare to renovate and modernize its primary care facility and construct a new urgent care center at its Middletown campus.

“Everyone in the Hudson Valley deserves affordable and accessible healthcare,” said Congressman Pat Ryan. “And with families feeling the pressure of making ends meet, I’m fighting to lower the cost of health care across the board. This federal funding will help families across the region get the treatment they need at a cost they can afford. I’ll continue pushing every day to get our Community Health Centers the support they need and deserve.”

“Congressman Ryan’s efforts have been instrumental in helping Cornerstone Family Healthcare secure $2.8 million in Community Project Funding to renovate 14 Grove Street into a state-of-the-art medical facility right in the heart of Middletown,” said Cornerstone Family Healthcare CEO Dave Jolly. “This grant award ensures that Middletown residents will have timely access to quality care, right in their community and serve as the perfect addition to the Rowley Family Pavilion located at 10 Benton Ave., which will open in early 2024.”

Cornerstone’s planned new facility will have 8 to 9 cutting edge exam rooms and will serve an estimated 12,000 patients per year by its third year of operation.

Earlier this year, Congressman Ryan announced he secured a $42,232 federal grant for Cornerstone to expand its Bridge Access Program. Congressman Ryan recently visited Cornerstone’s Middletown campus to tour recent upgrades that allowed the facility to now house a range of community health services including internal medicine, dental care, mental healthcare, and nutrition counseling. Today’s announcement builds on Congressman Ryan’s record of delivering for Hudson Valley healthcare centers. In April, Ryan secured over $2,000,000 in federal funds for Sun River Health in Beacon to construct a new urgent care center, two new primary care rooms, and expand its hours of operation.
