Congressman Pat Ryan’s Statement on Beginning of the 118th Congress

WASHINGTON, DC –  Today, Congressman Pat Ryan released the following statement on the beginning of the 118th Congress:

"It may be a new Congress, but my priorities are the same: I’m here to defend fundamental rights, and deliver much-needed relief,” said Representative Pat Ryan. “We may appear more divided than ever, but it is my job first and foremost to serve the Hudson Valley. So that is my promise to each and every one of you today. I’ll work with anyone, regardless of party, who wants to serve their constituents and get things done. And I’ll never hesitate to call out those who dishonor this institution and this country. The stakes are too high right now for anything else.”

“I also have the unique honor of being the first West Point graduate to ever represent the institution in Congress, a responsibility I do not take lightly,” continued Representative Ryan. “Supporting West Point, along with all of our region’s veterans and military families, is a top priority. In addition, we need to keep building an economy that works for all, grow the manufacturing base in New York, and provide clean water for the region. I look forward to taking immediate action on these critical issues, as well as a number of others, in the weeks and months to come.”
