Congressman Pat Ryan’s Statement on Tonight’s Vote to Prevent Default and to Protect our Veterans, Seniors and Kids

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Pat Ryan released the following statement on tonight’s vote to prevent default and to protect our veterans, seniors and kids.

“For weeks, far-right extremists threatened to default, throwing our country into a recession if we did not agree to their devastating cuts to support for veterans, seniors, and kids. I’m proud that today I joined a bipartisan coalition to avert a catastrophic default and pass a bill that prevents these cuts, delivers for our veterans, and protects Social Security and Medicare. That is the kind of responsible governing Hudson Valley families deserve, and I will keep working every day to deliver.”
