For Second Week in a Row, Congressman Pat Ryan Delivers Critical Federal Funding to Orange County
Secures nearly $9M for crucial Orange County water infrastructure projects
CORNWALL, NY – For the second week in a row, Congressman Pat Ryan delivered major federal funding for Orange County, this time focused on crucial water infrastructure projects.
"Whether in a big city or a small town, every family in the Hudson Valley deserves access to clean water, air and soil,” said Representative Pat Ryan. “This federal funding for the Town of Cornwall, Town of Newburgh, and City of Middletown will replace old and asbestos-filled pipes as well as improve drainage systems which protect homes from storm water damage. By modernizing our outdated infrastructure, we will ensure no young child in Newburgh or senior in Middletown ever has to worry about having clean water. I look forward to working with these municipalities to make sure they have the proper federal support for these crucial projects.
“We all know how expensive water and sewer infrastructure is to build, repair or replace, which is why it’s never been more important to have the support of the Federal Government to help make these projects possible,” said Cornwall Town Supervisor Josh Wojehowski. “The $1.65 million in clean water fund dollars will allow us to move forward with the Hasbrouck Drainage Project, saving residents and Main Street business owners from flooding caused by extreme weather events as well help us to improve the sidewalk system that leads to our downtown which is currently undergoing an economic transformation.”
