POUGHKEEPSIE, NY –  Today, Congressman Pat Ryan delivered over 9,000 Valentine’s Day cards to the Castle Point VA and Vassar Brothers Medical Center as part of his inaugural “Valentines for Vets” program.

“It was an honor to meet with local veterans who have given so much for our country – and it has been truly remarkable to watch our community come together for my inaugural ‘Valentines for Vets’ program," said Congressman Pat Ryan. “I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who participated, especially our local schools, for writing over 9,000 Valentine’s Day cards in just the last few weeks. It is a touching testament to our region’s support and respect for our servicemembers and veterans. By recognizing and thanking our local veterans, we remind them that their selfless service does not go unnoticed.”

"On behalf of the VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Congressman Ryan for his dedication to honoring his fellow Veterans,” said VA Hudson Valley Medical Center Director Dawn Schaal. “The Valentine's Day cards for our Veterans truly touch their hearts and bring a smile to their faces. Thank you for your generosity and for making a difference in the lives of our heroes. They deserve nothing but the best, and thanks to your efforts, they will feel loved and appreciated this Valentine's Day."
