Legislation amends the 2020 “Elijah E. Cummings Coast Guard Authorization Act” to permanently ban barges from anchoring on the Hudson River

Ryan delivered $1 million in federal funds to help Family Services complete renovations of its Family Partnership Center. Center will connect Poughkeepsie families with support system of 19 organizations, providing a range of services from healthcare to education.

Funding will add 71 AmeriCorps positions to the Student Conservation Association’s Hudson Valley Corps. Ryan, an Iraq War veteran and member of the bipartisan National Service Congressional Caucus, has prioritized making careers in public service more accessible for Hudson Valley families.

With far-right Republicans using the border to score political points rather than solving the problem, Ryan writes letter to President Biden calling on him to take executive action to restore order at the Southern border. Earlier this year, House Republican leadership refused to even hold a vote on bipartisan Senate immigration legislation.
